In regulation at the U.S. Open sectional qualifier, Larson finished with a 68-69—137 total and was tied with California’s David Gazzolo and Arizona’s Brandon Harkins for sixth place.

Harkins won the three-man playoff for the final berth to the U.S. Open, which will be held June 16-19 at Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania.

Former UH-Hilo golfer Chris Keiter, from Maui, struggled to a 78-80—158 total and tied from third-to-last place.

Junior, senior skill golf events

The Junior Drive, Chip and Putt, and Aloha Senior Skills Challenge are holding registration.

The senior event will be held June 19 at Hualalai. Entry fee is $25.
